Catching Up with Some Enabling

So it's been awhile since I had a decent post, so now I have some catching up to do.  I may have tripped a bit over wanting all of the things, but I'm really happy with all of my recent acquisitions.
First up is a skein of Helvellyn Sock (75/25 Superwash BFL/Nylon 464 yd/100g) from the Wandering Wool Etsy shop in the colorway Strawberries and Cream. I got a coupon code and took advantage of being able to support a fellow indie dyer.

Next up is this gorgeous skeins Manos Del Uruguay Alegria (75/25 superwash merino/nylon 445yds/100g) in the Atlantico Colorway. I recently joined the Central Ohio Weavers Guild as they don't just weave, but also spin and knit. I figured it would be a good resource for me as I try to learn how to spin. They had their Fall Retreat a few weeks ago and I was on my way home and realized that I was rather close to one of the local yarn stores. I decided to stop in as there is a sweater pattern on ravelry that I have been drooling over for a while now and wanted to see if they had anything that I could use for it. Unfortunately, the shop was pretty bare, as they just finished up the show season, and had not had a chance to restock yet, so I didn't find anything for the sweater, but I did find this little beauty, that is going to likely become a lovely pair of socks.

I also found these. They were the only pair of sock blockers in the store and they just happen to be the right size!  I happen to have huge feet. I wear a US women's size 12 shoe, so I have been having a hard time finding the right size sock blocker. On the up side, I know a lot of knitters complain about having to knit socks for their male significant others because they have giant man feet. My husband and I wear the same size shoe, so it's the same size socks for both of us too, we both have giant man feet!

I was watching the Stockinette Zombies podcast recently and saw this absolutely adorable embroidered project bag from Rainstorm Studios on Etsy with a knitting zombie on it and just had to have one of my own. I recently saw she now has a mummy one as well....I may be stalking her shop as soon as I have more funds.  This is "The Foldover" bag which is cylindrical in shape, with a flat bottom, and the top folds down, so you can have easy access to your yarn ball while working on your project.

After not finding any sweater yarn at my local yarn shop, I was a bit put out until I got an email from Webs.com announcing free shipping for a short period of time.  The cardigan I have been eyeing is the Delancey Cardigan by Alexis Winslow which has chevron stripes throughout. After poking around on webs for a while, I decided to go with this Schachenmayr SMC Juvel yarn (100% superwash new wool 116 yds/50g DK weight) in dark grey (colorway 00002) and green (colorway 00433) for the stripes

I really wanted to do this sweater in Madeline Tosh Pashmina (75/15/10 merino/silk/cashmere 360yds per skein). Unfortunately the sweater calls for a DK weight, and Pashmina is a sport weight. So I hemmed and hawed about it for a while, and decided to buy a sweaters quantity of the Pashmina as well in the Opaline colorway. I don't know which sweater it is going to be yet, but I know it will be fabulous whatever it is.

Well that's it for recent acquisitions, I have more to catch you up on, but that will keep for another day.
